Under Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised, nominations generally do not require a second. A member should be able to nominate a qualified person without needing additional support first.

For example, stating "I nominate Commissioner Jones for Chairman" is a valid nomination — no second needed.

Quick Tip: Always check your local rules, as some counties may require a second for nominations.
