Sequatchie County is taking an innovative approach in their funding of recovery support. Helping Hands, a program that provides recovery housing and support in Dunlap, TN, received some opioid settlement funding to expand their work. Interestingly, the Sequatchie County Opioid Abatement Committee also provided funding to send Director of Operations Clayton Casey to the Rx and Illicit Drugs Summit in Nashville for educational and collaborative opportunities.

The summit is regularly attended by several thousand experts and professionals from across the country and showcases critical updates, best practices and innovations in the areas of prevention, treatment, recovery support, public safety and more. Casey attended the summit for the full week, making new contacts and learning from the training sessions. He will be taking this knowledge back to the local recovery community and reporting back to the committee in Sequatchie.
